Laser device performance
How long does it take to see results from using a Laser HairMax device for hair loss?
The results from treating hair loss and thinning hair with a Hairmax laser device generally start to show within 12-16 weeks. Under normal circumstances, hair grows approximately 0.5 inches per month. Therefore, laser hair loss treatment is not an "overnight result" but rather a continuous treatment that shows long-term results. You should give the treatment time and observe the results, which will vary from person to person. Clinical studies have shown that over 90% of users experience significant hair growth. Furthermore, some of our researchers expect even better results with continuous long-term use beyond just 26 weeks of research.
What good results can I expect from using the HairMax laser device?
The following information shows the response to HairMax laser treatment: hair regrowth, reduced hair thinning, stronger hair, thicker and denser hair, healthy and shiny hair, and reduced hair loss.
Is a HairMax laser device right for me?
Results vary by individual, but clinical research shows that over 90% of participants experienced significant hair regrowth, with an average increase of 129 hairs per square inch.
Do more expensive laser devices provide better light and therefore treat hair loss more effectively?
Not all of our laser devices provide the same level of light energy and achieve equally good treatment results. The only difference is the treatment time per session. The higher the laser power, the shorter the treatment time per session, making the device more convenient to use than models with lower laser power.
How long do I need to use the laser devices from HairMax, or do I need to use them indefinitely?
For effective treatment, we recommend continuous use of the laser device. However, if you find that your hair has become denser, you may reduce usage to twice a week. If you start experiencing hair loss again, you must return to using it three times a week as usual.
Does the laser device from HairMax treat hair loss and thinning across the entire scalp, or only on the top area?
HairMax laser devices can be used to treat hair loss and thinning hair all over the scalp, whether it's on the top, front, sides, or back.
I've been using the HairMax laser for hair loss for several weeks now, but I haven't seen any noticeable results. What should I do?
We recommend continued use to observe long-term results. HairMax laser devices work through two mechanisms: 1. to help stimulate new hair growth, and 2. to preserve existing hair. Therefore, we recommend using the device continuously for at least 20 weeks before evaluating the results.
Can HairMax lasers be used in conjunction with other hair care products?
HairMax lasers are safe and can be used in conjunction with other hair products, including minoxidil and finasteride.
Technical Device Information
How strong is the laser, and how long does it last?
HairMax laser devices for hair loss are FDA-cleared for at-home use, proving their safety and effectiveness for both men and women. All HairMax devices are designed for long-term use, lasting 10-15 years. Regarding laser power, all HairMax lasers are low-level lasers with a wavelength of 655 nm and an output of 5 mW per laser. Built with high-quality materials, HairMax laser devices have been tested for 15,000 hours of use. If a laser starts to malfunction, its output power will not decrease; instead, the laser diode will completely cease to function. This means that whenever a laser diode is lit, its performance is always at full capacity.
How often do HairMax laser devices need to be charged?
HairMax laser devices have an internal rechargeable battery. Once charged, the device can be used multiple times, depending on the model. However, when the battery level is low and needs to be recharged, a red blinking indicator light will appear, which varies by model. We recommend that you charge the battery when it starts blinking. To extend battery life, do not charge after every use. Once fully charged, the indicator light will stop blinking. For charging times for each model and additional details, please consult your device's user manual for charging instructions.
Will the laser beam's power decrease if the battery level is low?
The light energy emitted will remain consistent even if the battery charge decreases. When the power is insufficient, the device will automatically turn off. If the device turns off while you are using it due to insufficient battery power, we recommend plugging in the charger and continuing to use it until the session is complete. However, you should regularly check the battery level and charge the device consistently when alerted to low power levels.

Side effects and concerns
Are there any side effects from using HairMax laser devices to treat hair loss?
Over the past 15 years, there have been no reported dangerous side effects from the use of HairMax laser devices, neither from market distribution nor in research studies.
Can HairMax laser light cause skin burns?
HairMax lasers do not cause skin burns because they are low-energy lasers and do not generate heat, thus preventing burns to the scalp or skin.
Can HairMax laser devices be used more than the recommended amount?
Our laser light is safe and gentle. Using the laser device more frequently will not lead to better results, and may over-stimulate hair follicles, potentially reducing effectiveness. Therefore, we recommend using the device as directed to achieve the best results.
The first time I used the HairMax laser, I felt a tingling and itching sensation.
Will these symptoms disappear? When you start using HairMax laser products to treat hair loss and thinning, your hair follicles are stimulated, and blood circulation increases. Therefore, you may feel a tingling sensation or itching on your scalp. Normally, these symptoms will disappear within 1-2 weeks of continuous use of the device.
Will using a laser device from HairMax cause skin cancer?
Using Hairmax laser devices does not cause skin cancer. The light energy that causes cancer is UVA radiation from sunlight. The laser light in HairMax devices has a completely different wavelength from UVA radiation. However, if you are undergoing treatment for skin cancer on your scalp, you should consult your doctor about light therapy first.
What would happen if I stared into the laser from a HairMax laser device?
You should not look directly into the laser beam or at the laser light reflected off a mirror. If you look directly for too long, you may experience eye irritation.
If pregnant, can I use a HairMax laser device?
As with all medications or medical devices, we recommend that you consult your healthcare provider to determine whether you can begin using HairMax laser therapy if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
